जैसा कि हम जानते हैं अब गांव में पहले की तरह पर्याप्त कृषि मजदूर नहीं मिल पाते हैं क्योंकि ज्यादातर लोग उद्योगों में काम करने के लिए तथा निर्माण स्थलों पर काम करने के लिए पलायन कर गए हैं वह बड़े शहरों में और नए बस रहे औद्योगिक नगरों में जाकर रोजगार तलाशते हैं।जबकि दूसरी तरफ बढ़ती हुई जनसंख्याके कारण भूमि पर जनसंख्या का घनत्व बढ़ता जा रहा है इस कारण जोतें छोटी होती जा रहीं हैं। इसी क्रम में बड़े किसान मध्यम में मध्यम किसान लघु में और लघु किसान सीमांत किसान के रूप में तब्दील होते जा रहे हैं जिसका परिणाम यह हुआ कि खेती में बड़े यंत्रों जिनकी कीमत बहुत अधिक है का उपयोग भौतिक एवं आर्थिक रूप से व्यवहारिक नहीं रह गया है। बढ़ी हुई श्रम लागत और मजदूरों की कमी के कारण बहुत से किसानों ने खेती करना छोड़ दिया है और वे जमीनों को बँटाई या किराये पर उठाना पसंद करते हैं अथवा परती छोड़ देते हैं। यह सारी बातें तो केवल समस्या से संबंधित है किंतु जरूरी है इसका समाधान।अन्यथा भारत में कृषि का विकास होने की बजाय पूरी तरह विनाश हो जाएगा।

 समाधान : बदलते परिदृश्य में कॉस्ट एफिशिएंट विकल्प उपलब्ध है बस जरूरत है उनके बारे में जानने की और उनका खेती में सही ढंग से उपयोग करने की। यदि सकारात्मक सोच के साथ उपयुक्त कृषि यंत्रों का चयन कर इस्तेमाल किया जाए तो उत्पादन लागत में प्रभावीरूप से कमी आएगी और खेती मुनाफे का सौदा बन सकेगा।

 सिकल बार घास काटने की मशीन: छोटे पैमाने पर घास या चारा फसल उगाने वाले किसानों के लिए सिकल बार घास काटने की मशीन लागत प्रभावी उपकरण हैं। वे मैनुअल या ट्रैक्टर-चालित हैं और घास और अन्य चारा फसलों को कुशलतापूर्वक काट सकते हैं।
